Madrid remains the region with the highest salaries in Spain at €24,713. In second place is the Basque Country (23,969 euros). On the third - Catalonia (23,727 euros).

The lowest salaries in Spain were recorded in Cantabria (20,371 euros), in the Canary Islands (21,542 euros) and in Galicia (21,644 euros).

Top 3 sectors with the highest salaries in Spain

In early May 2019, La Información compiled a list of the sectors of the Spanish economy with the highest salaries. The rating is based on the annual report InfoJobs-ESADE 2018, which is based on data on vacancies posted on job search sites.

The first place is occupied by programming and telecommunications. The average wage here is €29,384 a year. Over the year, this figure increased by 302 euros. And cloud specialists and architects of information systems can count on 92 thousand euros per year.

Real estate and construction - in second place in the rating (28,949 euros per year). Administrators and managers in the field of real estate and civil engineering receive from 31 to 35 thousand per year.

Engineers and technologists close the top three (38,162 euros per year). For example, the head of engineering projects receives 63,680 euros per year[1].

Police salaries review: €1,100 to €1,900 per month

The salaries of police officers in Spain depend on the service life, night shifts, units, categories and other factors, but differences are also observed depending on the municipality.

For 2017, in the Barcelona City Guard, ​ ​ the salary of employees starts at 1700 euros per month, while in Mallorca it barely exceeds 1100 euros. 2012: Average salary - 22.7 thousand euros per year

The average wage in Spain in 2012 was € 22,726,44 a year, 0.8% less than the year before. Relevant information is provided in a new report by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). In addition, experts found out which professions earn the most in Spain.

Men earn an average of 25,682,05 euros per year, while women earn 19,537,33 euros. Thus, the income of the second group is 76.1% of the income of the first.

The highest were salaries in the field of power (on average 52,324,67 euros per year). They are 130.2% above the national average. The second place in terms of income is occupied by the financial activity and insurance sector (41,905,60 euros). The least earns are employees of the restaurant business and junior administrative employees - 13,687,02 and 16,130,55 euros, respectively. These figures were 39% and 29% below national averages.

Salaries in senior positions are 133.9% higher than the national average. A similar situation is observed in the field of science and intellectual labor, as well as in the safety and security services. In other sectors, pay was below national averages. The most modest salary is received by low-skilled service workers (with the exception of transport), as well as restaurant business and trade.

In addition, holders of temporary contracts earn 34.5% less than holders of indefinite employment contracts.

Among the regions of Spain, the leaders in terms of wages were the Basque Country (26,536,61 euros), Madrid (26,044,39 euros) and Catalonia (24,436,39 euros). In other autonomies, workers' incomes were below the national average. Residents of the Canary Islands (19,277,62 euros), Galicia (19,389,2 euros) and Extremadura (19,721,35 euros) earn the least.
