2025: Intel Processor Share Cut to 6.55%

In January 2025, AMD almost completely captured the computer processor market in Germany. At the same time, Intel chips in local retail have practically ceased to be sold. This is stated in the material TechPowerUp, published in early February 2025.

AMD outperformed Intel in all key metrics, according to German retailer MindFactory. In particular, in unit terms, AMD's share was 92.16% (23,615 processors sold in January 2025) versus 7.84% for Intel (2010 units). In terms of revenue, AMD captured 93.45% of the German market (8,300,674 euros), while Intel got only 6.55% (581,959 euros). The average cost of chips sold by AMD was also higher than that of Intel - 320 euros, against 290 euros.

Intel processors in Germany stopped buying

It is noted that the best-selling processor in Germany in January 2025 was AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D for desktop computers. The chip, built on the Zen 5 architecture, contains 8 cores with the ability to simultaneously process up to 16 instruction streams. The clock speed in turbo mode reaches 5.2 GHz. As of February 6, 2025, the MindFactory store was offering the piece at an estimated price of €580.

If we consider various generations of processors, then in January 2025 the AMD AM5 platform dominated the German market: the share of chips for this socket accounted for 71.84% of total sales. Another 20.31% was occupied by products for the AMD AM4 processor socket. Processors made by Intel LGA 1700, such as the Core of the 12th, 13th and 14th generations, provided 6.81% of sales. The LGA 1851 socket, which supports the latest Intel Core Ultra 200S processors, accounted for 0.72%. And the contribution of chips for the outdated LGA 1200 and LGA 1151 connectors was estimated to be only 0.21% and 0.1%, respectively.[1]
