2019: What was afforded by bosses of Google at work

At the end of August, 2019 the post of the former employee of Google published in Medium brought up the subject of harassments in a workplace and sex again without obligations which was afforded by bosses of Google.

Jennifer Blakely, earlier the employee of Google, accused the former head, and nowadays the head of Alphabet legal department David Drummond that he entered with it the illegitimate relations, forced to leave well paid workplace and left one with the child.

In November, 2018 thousands of employees of Google organized protest actions worldwide. They opposed sexual harassments, gender inequality and racism.

Dismissal of 48 employees accused of sexual harassments

On October 25, 2018 it became known that Google dismissed 48 employees accused of sexual harassments for two previous years. The CEO of the company Sundari Pichai told about it in the e-mail sent to workers in response to emergence of rumors about harassment from the creator of Android Andy Rubin.

In the letter it is noted that among dismissed for charges of harassments 13 held high posts in the company. None of these employees received a severance pay.

2017: A series of notorious incidents in Silicon Valley

In 2017 occurred several juicy scandals connected with manifestation of sexism in the companies of Silicon Valley. Such incidents even more often come to an end with dismissals of the high-ranking employees.

So, in June, 2017 the CEO of service of the order of the Uber taxi Travis Kalanick resigned after a series of charges of top management of the company of discrimination of women. In February the former employee of Uber Suzan Fowler published in the blog a note in which told about how it and other women systematically were exposed to sexual harassments from the colleagues, and the management closed eyes to it — because of qualification and experience of such workers.

Condemnation of sexism covered Silicon Valley

Before leaving Uber Kalanik dismissed 20 people after studying of 215 complaints to discrimination, insult, nonprofessional behavior and mockeries. In many cases it was talked of oppression of women.

In June, 2017 the venture capitalist Justin Caldbeck from the Binary Capital company which is based in Silicon Valley was forced to take an indefinite leave in connection with charges that suggested female entrepreneurs to have with it sex in exchange for providing financing of the company. Caldbeck apologized for deeds and noted that the authoritativeness of male venture capitalists and businesswoman strongly differs, and he called a surrounding situation "gender hostility".

The founder of venture fund and accelerator of 500 Startups Dave McClure left from a position of the CEO of the company and also stopped being her cofounder after public charge of harassment was published in the The New York Times edition. In article it is told about the foundress of a fitness startup of Proday Sara Kunst who in 2014 discussed the possible transaction from 500 Startups and conducted negotiations directly with Dave McClure. According to her, the founder of an accelerator sent it the message to Facebook with the unambiguous offer. After this offer of Kunst decided to refuse further cooperation with the company.[1]
