Russian market
2011
The volume of the Russian software market of systems management and networks in 2011 grew more than by 25% and was $144.2 million in the prices of end users, according to IDC.
The five of the leading suppliers included exclusively foreign companies – IBM, HP, Microsoft, VMware, CA Technologies. Totally more than 75% of the market fell to their share. From the Russian companies in this market Naumen whose share made 2.8% made the most significant progress.
The pacing factors stimulating market development of software of systems management and networks became the explosive growth of volumes of the processed data and the necessity of broader application of convergent solutions and corresponding control software caused by it and also a favorable situation in the world market of dependence depending on which there is the Russian IT market.
The considerable share of customers of large projects on implementation of infrastructure software is made by the enterprises connected with public sector. The high prices of energy resources during the whole last year allowed a number of such customers to perform large-scale projects on creation and upgrade of corporate IT infrastructures.
Unlike more mature IT markets, in Russia software costs of systems management and networks still occupy an insignificant part in the general investments into creation of IT infrastructures, - the analyst of IDC Victor Tsygankov considers. – "It allows to speak about presence of considerable potential for development of this segment of the market of software", - the expert concluded.
According to forecasts of IDC, the volume of the Russian software market of systems management and networks will increase in 2012 by 17% due to continuation of investments into creation and development of corporate and commercial centers of data processing and further penetration of cloud computing.

At the same time, before for two years growth of the world market of the ITOM systems was two-digit so it seriously slowed down.
Market growth factors, according to analysts, are investments into the systems of virtualization and cloud computing and also configuration software. The continuing growth of a segment of automation of IT of processes demonstrates that IT services are interested also in more traditional tools. At the same time, usual solutions are supplemented with more modern functionality, for example, mobile and also visualization tools and more advanced means of the analysis and reporting.
Revenue of five first in total revenue vendors of ITOM systems grew in 2012 by 0.6% whereas in 2011 the same indicator was 7%. 55% of the market or $9.9 billion in a cash equivalent were the share of them. Positions within the first five do not change since 2010: in decreasing order it is IBM, CA Technologies, BMC Software, Microsoft and HP.

IDC Data
In December, 2011 IDC published results of the periodic six-months research of the software market of management of IT systems of the enterprises - Worldwide Semiannual System Management Software Tracker for the first half of 2011.
Wilvin Chee, the assistant to the vice president for market research of the software, noted growth of the market of software of management of IT systems which reached two-digit digits in the first half of 2011. "The markets of software of setup and configuration management (CCM), planning of workloads and automation (WSA) provided the best growth among functional software, but the most outstanding success was achieved in the market of event management (EM) that was promoted considerably by regions of the USA, to Japan and CEMA".
In three of six functional markets within the first six months 2011 vendors gained income more than $1 billion: CCM, WSA and performance management (Performance Management). These three markets showed very high growth rates in the territory of the USA while in other regions, such as Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, growth was "good" in comparison with the same period of previous year. Canada and the Pacific Rim (except Japan) showed growth slightly below in comparison with previous periods. In Japan and Latin America stable growth in the majority of the markets keeps.
Tim Grieser, the vice president of IDC, noted the stable growth of world sales returns of software of management of IT systems in the first half of 2011. "Growth happened due to increase in expenses on IT, the continuing economic recovery, the interconnected turnover cycles and hardware upgrade and also new investments into management of virtual and cloud infrastructures. Automation for simplification and optimization of operating costs in IT was at the same time a pacing factor of influence", - the analyst emphasized.
The companies IBM, BMC also HP held three leading places on total revenue in the first half of 2011, nevertheless, any company could not provide the revenue growth exceeding average market. Microsoft, NEC, and VMware showed good results in all markets of software of management systems where they compete. IDC also noted that they 14 suppliers in the first half of 2011 will reach the sales volume which exceeded $100 million. Similar happened more than a year ago when Citrix, being a beginner, showed high growth rates, in particular in the market of CCM.
