2012
According to Infonetics Research, the total volume of the world market of the PBX and keyboard telephone systems in 2012 was 8.1 billion dollars that it is 4% below than the level 2011.
According to analysts, sales reduction of the PBX in the region of EMEA appeared even more – the whole 10%. At the same time indicators of growth of the markets of North America and the Pacific Rim were though very small, but positive: growth of the first was 2%, the second – 1%.
Infonetics notes that after two years of moderate growth in 2012 sales of the PBX obviously slowed down. Deliveries grew, but in the market the price pressure of competitors remained that reduced market sizes in money. Weakening of the European economy became an additional negative factor. However analysts believe that in 2013 in the market of the PBX moderate growth will be observed again.
At the same time the segment of unified communications (UC), on the contrary, grew mainly thanks to demand for the Skype for Business platform (before Microsoft Lync). Analysts predict that in 2013 unified communications will reach stronger position in business market in segments of large and medium business.
By estimates of analysts, in 2012 the annual growth of a segment of UC was 8%. Infonetics expects that in 2013 the most intense competition is necessary in this segment, and Cisco Systems and Microsoft will be main "characters".
However the most significant growth in 2012 (in comparison with 2011) was observed not in UC, and in an IP-UATS segment – 11%.
The sixth quarter in a row the Cisco Systems company remains the market leader of the PBX and keyboard telephone systems.
On the second place at the end of 2012 Avaya company, on the third – Siemens. But at the same time only three vendors from dozens of producers working at the market of corporate telephony can brag of an income gain in 2012 is Cisco, Mitel and[1].
