2021: Moscow remained in 4th place in the ranking of the best cities in the world for living and business
For the second year in a row, Moscow took 4th place in the ranking of the best cities in the world, The World's 100 Best Cities, which is compiled by the consulting company Resonance Consultancy based on indicators such as tourist attractiveness, convenience for life, work and doing business. The new study was released in September 2021.
Moscow lost only to London, Paris and New York, which in the ranking took the first, second and third lines, respectively. Top 5 closed Dubai.
When compiling the rating, statistical indicators were studied in 24 areas, grouped into six main categories: place, product, people, economic prosperity, leisure, promotion. Experts assess the possibilities of the economy, cultural environment, etc., as well as analyze how balanced the city is developing.
Moscow was recognized as a leader in the Product category due to its developed infrastructure, air traffic and the number of attractions. In the "Place" category, Moscow took second place for the high level of safety and accessibility of quality parks. In the Leisure category, Moscow was in fifth place, in terms of the level of education of the population - in third, after London and St. Petersburg. By the number of hashtags on Instagram, Moscow entered the top ten.
In the ranking of 2021, Moscow significantly strengthened its position in the Economic Prosperity indicator group, showing growth from 64th to 25th place. The assessment was based on a number of economic indicators, including unemployment and GRP per capita.
The head of the Moscow Department of business and innovative razvitiyaaleksy Fursin, commenting on results of rating, noted that the capital of Russia develops dynamically as the international technological center, in the city all conditions for creation and introduction of innovative products are created.[1]

In October 2020, the consulting company Resonance Consultancy, which specializes in real estate and economic development, unveiled a new edition of The World's 100 Best Cities ranking of the best cities in the world for living, business and tourism. Moscow is in fourth place against the fifth line a year earlier.
The authors of the study noted Moscow's leadership in the Product category, again recognizing it as the best in terms of infrastructure (in particular, a network of airports), cultural sites and attractions.
In addition, the capital of Russia entered the top three megacities in the "Place" category, which analyzes the quality of the urban environment and safety. The city also improved its position in the People category, moving from 143 to 12th for the year. Moscow took second place in the world in terms of the number of inhabitants with higher education.
In addition, the Russian capital, along with other cities, was rated in the categories "Economic prosperity" (employment, business activity), "Pastime" (culture, restaurant sphere and shopping) and "Popularization" (mentions in the media and social networks).
The first line of The World's 100 Best Cities rating in 2020 was taken by London, the second by New York, the third by Paris. As part of the study, places are distributed taking into account the attractiveness of cities for tourism, living and doing business based on statistics, feedback from the business community, industry specialists and tourists.
