On March 25, 2017 in Indonesia there took place successful transaction during which of an abdominal cavity of the 10-month-old baby the twin parasite detected using the computer tomography (CT) was taken.
On March 11, 2017 the baby with atypically increased stomach of the size of a melon came to hospital of the Indonesian city of Mataram on the western coast of the island of Lombok. Parents of the child were afraid that it is a tumor, however KT-scanning and x-rays of abdominal area showed that in a stomach the kid has an education in the form of an embryo, with rudiments of a backbone and extremities.
On March 25, 2017 the group of the Indonesian doctors performed the operation lasting an hour and a half and deleted education which was an embryo weighing 400 grams. According to physicians, the little patient well underwent an operation and now is on the mend.
The research of the taken fruit showed that it is the boy who is only not completely developed. This anomaly in medicine is known under the name "fetus in fetu" or an embryo in an embryo. It is extremely rare phenomenon at which one or several partially created fruits develop in a body of other fruit.
Since the first documented case approximately in 1800, in the world less than 200 messages about anomaly of "fetus in fetu" are registered. As a rule, the underdeveloped embryo has a backbone, extremities and several bodies, however there is no skull and a brain. The fruit exists as a parasite, eating from a blood system in the twin - "owner".
Parasitic fruits can be in different parts of a body — in an abdominal cavity, a thorax, a skull and a scrotum. In one of cases which it was announced in 2008 in an abdominal cavity of the newborn in the USA eleven embryonic educations were revealed at once, reports the New Scientist edition.[1]
