2024: The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation launches a system for issuing an electronic certificate of a veteran
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation launches a system for the quick issuance of an electronic certificate of a combat veteran. This was announced at the end of March 2024 by the head of the department of information systems of the department, Lieutenant General Oleg Maslennikov.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has already tested the issuance of new certificates on the basis of one of the banks. For this, an information system of interaction between the military department and the banking system was developed, ensuring the operational issuance of electronic certificates and their registration, - said Maslennikov, whose words are quoted by the press service of the department. |
As noted in the Ministry of Defense, the system makes it possible to simplify the process of obtaining a certificate of a participant in hostilities as much as possible, saves time for the applicant, especially when applying remotely through the personal account of a mobile application or through the bank's website. The certificate is issued in a maximum of 7 days.
It is emphasized that the certificate has special protection against fakes. The document can be used in several ways, including contactless (in this case, a document with a built-in chip is issued to read information about the veteran).
On March 16, 2024, by decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 312, a certificate of a combat veteran in the form of a universal identification card was put into effect. In fact, this is an electronic certificate, the purpose of which is to accumulate the entire range of social support measures provided for war veterans.
The commissioning of an electronic certificate is a quick, simple and transparent way to receive due payments, social benefits, discounts and privileges for war veterans, - said Oleg Maslennikov.[1] |
