2023: Russian water meter market growth by 14.1%

At the end of 2023, the volume of the Russian market for water metering devices in physical terms increased by 14.1% compared to the previous year. More than half of the industry is occupied by domestic products. This is stated in the review of NeoAnalytics, presented on June 11, 2024.

There are various types of meters on the Russian market, both foreign and Russian-made. Such devices are divided into industrial and household. There are universal meters that measure the flow of water with temperatures from + 5 to + 90 degrees Celsius, but there are devices that are suitable only for cold or only for hot water: the former operate in the range from + 5 to + 40 degrees, the latter - from + 40 to + 90 degrees.

According to estimates, in 2023, the production of water meters at Russian enterprises increased by 13.6% on an annualized basis, reaching approximately 80 thousand units. At the same time, the market share of domestic products amounted to 52.8%. Among the significant enterprises of the industry are named Teplovodomer JSC, Promservice JSC, Energy Saving Company TEM LLC, BETAR PKF LLC, Vodomer LLC and Decast LLC.

The study also said that in 2023, imports of water meters rose by 13.2% compared to 2022. The main countries supplying such products in the Russian Federation are China (85.3%), Serbia (7.7%) and Turkey (3.9%).

At the same time, in contrast to the restored segments of domestic production and imports, negative dynamics was noted in the direction of export supplies. This indicates a shortage of products on the market. The bulk of manufactured products is purchased by Russian consumers. In general, as noted, 2023 showed positive results compared to the previous year, when in all segments there was a drop in indicators.^[1]
