In 2018 global sales of not branded (white box) servers reached $6.45 billion, counted in Data Bridge Market Research research company. Analysts did not specify dynamics in comparison with 2017, but said that market size increases and will grow further.

The white box servers are usually used in data processing centers and bought by ODM manufacturing.  To provide to customers individual preference, the ODM companies complete this equipment with commercial ready components which are combined afterwards differently. Growth of the market of such products is promoted construction new and expansion of the operating DPCs, the report says.

According to forecasts of experts, during the period from 2019 to 2026 revenue of producers from sale of servers of a type of white box will annually rise by 18.61% and will make $25.26 billion by the end of this interval of time.

ODM manufacturing aim at less large customers because of strong competition. Before HPE and Foxconn created the joint venture occupied with release of a line of the Cloudline servers, and Dell created new server division. Besides, the solution of Facebook and Google to increase the number of contract producers of servers for the data centers affects.

It should be noted that it is about cooperation in deliveries of not branded servers directly in data centers. Google and Facebook also use the equipment of eminent producers (like HPE and Dell), however in the conditions of the growing competition all of them give preference in the Internet industry to ODM partner more often.[1]
