At the same time, as experts for the beginning of 2019 consider, in the short term business in the construction sector will be negatively influenced by cyclic deceleration of growth of world GDP and rise in price of wood raw materials (+4.2% in 2018 after decrease by 10.5% from the 2015th on the 2017th). In long-term perspective of analytics give the positive forecast as increase in demand for the real estate in emerging markets is expected.
A segment of production of wood for heating and generation of the electric power price fluctuations strongly influence hydrocarbons, and with growth of volumes of use of wood for power generation this influence only amplifies. According to the latest data, available at the time of writing of the report, in 2018 the price of the unprocessed wood grew by 3.3%. Demand for heating wood, on the contrary, will grow, analysts as in the region the explicit tendency to growth of popularity of renewable energy sources is observed consider.
In China decrease in demand for the real estate, and together with it and decline in consumption of wood by builders is expected. 2018: Developing countries expand activity scale in the industry
In recent years in the sector the tendency to redistribution of market shares is planned – producers from developing countries gradually expand scales of activity and take away clients from business from member states of the Economic Commission for Europe of the UN (UNECE).
According to UN committee on the woods and forestry, in 2018 the volume of consumption of timber in the countries of UNECE grew by 1.9%, first of all thanks to increase in demand for wood fuel granules. In the 2019th, analysts of committee predict, growth will slow down and will be only 0.9%. In Europe and North America changes in the legislation favorably affect the sector – the authorities actively stimulate growth of volumes of use of wood in building industry and power.
