BitDefender is the division of the Romanian company SoftWin which is engaged in development of software products in information security field. Solutions of Bitdefender represent the end-to-end system of information security including an antivirus, an antispam, the firewall, the anti-spy and many other modules. There are solutions for all popular platforms: for personal and server OS and also for mail servers and Internet gateways.

Solutions of Bitdefender protect hundreds of millions home and corporate users around the world. Software tools of protection against viruses of Bitdefender extend through a partner network of the company more than in 100 countries.

2017

The license agreement with WatchGuard Technologies

The Bitdefender company announced on October 26, 2017 the license agreement for some checked technologies of protection against malware with WatchGuard Technologies, Inc., the developer of solutions of network security. WatchGuard and Bitdefender propose now completely integrated solution providing protection against malware on the gateway, which is specially developed for WatchGuard devices which blocks the known and unknown expanded threats, including viruses, trojans, spyware and ransomware (viruses encoders) in real time.

Thanks to this integration small, medium-sized enterprises and also the large companies, clients of WatchGuard, get in addition support of Bitdefender which provides performance, the general simplicity of implementation and setup the politician and also the low level of false operations.

In general WatchGuard devices with support of Bitdefender will ensure to clients of SMB due safety which is easy for unrolling and which is easy for managing, consider in Bitdefender.

Localization of corporate products for Russia

The corporate products of Bitdefender installed on the platform of the user (on-premise) are available in Russian. About it in Bitdefender company in October, 2017.

Are completely localized the management console and agents of the protected devices for the local version of the products GravityZone. In August the cloud version of corporate products of Bitdefender was already Russified. Now Russian is available also in the version established on the platform of the user that finishes localization process of products for business fully. For transition to Russian the user of the cloud version needs to select the corresponding item in settings.

• 2005, September. The ninth generation of products of Bitdefender is provided.
• 2005, April. It is started the hourly system of updating.
• 2005, March. It is provided new technology of detection of unknown threats of HiVE.
• 2004, April. BitDefender presented an antispam technology.
• 2004, January. There was the first version of LinuxDefender Live CD
• 2003, November. There is an antivirus for the Samba 3 server.
• 2003, August. There is the seventh generation of Bitdefender, with support of technology of anti-dialing.
• 2002, March. BitDefender produces the first anti-virus solution for MS SharePoint.
• 2001, November. Based on the Romanian antivirus of AVX the new anti-virus solution of Bitdefender with which the company entered on international market is created.
