2022: Chief accountant receives 9.5-year sentence on bribes
The head of the financial and economic department, the chief accountant of a military clinical hospital in Khabarovsk, was convicted of taking bribes. The press service of the Khabarovsk Regional Court announced this on October 25, 2022.
According to the investigation, the woman (her name and surname were not made public), being the head of the financial and economic department - the chief accountant of the military clinical hospital, in the period from October 2014 to July 2018 received property benefits through intermediaries for committing various illegal actions in the interests of various bribe-givers.
She transferred to some branches of hospitals of the Eastern Military District increased volumes of budget obligations, including under the article "wages," for which she demanded to bring her a "seven-figure" amount quarterly. Also, vouchers to Thailand were purchased three times for her and her family, for which she did not return the money, the press service of the Khabarovsk Regional Court reported.
The district court sentenced the defendant under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Clause "c" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Part 2 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Clause "c" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (2 episodes) in the form of 9 years 6 months of imprisonment in a general regime colony with a fine of 12,5,000 rubles, with deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the exercise of organizational, administrative and economic powers, in the public service and in local authorities for a period of 3 years. The arrest imposed on the property of the defendant has been preserved. It was decided to confiscate the funds of the defendant in the amount of more than 17 million rubles to the state income.
In court, the defendant pleaded guilty in part. The first conviction was made by one of the district courts of Khabarovsk. The defense tried to appeal this verdict in the Khabarovsk Regional Court, demanding that the defendant be sentenced to a suspended sentence, taking into account her age and partial admission of guilt. The appellate instance upheld the verdict.[1]
