In 1998, Imgis Inc. was renamed AdForce Inc. It was on the technology of AdForce, founded also in 1998 by AdTech, that it launched its first data center in Frankfurt (Germany).

In 2000, the American Internet holding CMGI acquired 80% of the capital of AdTech.

At the end of 2000, AdTech showed a billion-dollar advertising banner. In 2001, a 10 billion banner was shown. In 2002, the company celebrated a 100,000th advertising campaign and showed more than 100 million banners every day.

In 2004, AdForce technology was replaced by Adtech's own development. A short time after that, the second data center of the company in Frankfurt was opened.

On May 15, 2007, the takeover of AdTech AG by the American corporation AOL was announced. At this point, the company's solutions gave AOL an advanced advertising platform, including several applications that allowed websites to manage banner shows and receive the necessary reports on advertising campaigns.

In 2008, AOL abandoned the DoubleClick platform and switched to Adtech technology.

At this time, Adtech is managed as an independent division of Advertising.com (a subsidiary of AOL).

Adtech becomes the platform for AOL Advertising (formerly Platform-A).

In the first quarter of 2009, more than 125 billion advertising banners per month were already shown through the AdTech system.

In April 2013, AOL Networks announced the launch of its own advertising platform, Marketplace, based on Adtech technology, which will focus on selling advertising spots on network sites to premium segment customers. Marketplace allows you to manage sales in a single cross-platform interface, manage blocks and transparency settings at any level, receive technical support at all stages of joining the network, and sell free spaces on the site as efficiently as possible.
