2024: "Management of agricultural assets" bought out Russian business Ipackchem
On May 8, 2024, information appeared that the manufacturer of containers for agrochemistry Ipackchem, headquartered in Paris, sold the Russian division - the structure of Ipackam LLC. The buyer was the company "Management of Agricultural Assets."
Ipackchem was founded in 1987 as Aeropak as a division of Air Products. The Russian site in the Kirov region started working in 2017. As of 2024, Ipackchem brings together 14 plants in nine countries. The total number of employees exceeds 1,400. The company produces packaging for transporting chemical products. In particular, containers, bottles and canisters for plant protection products and other preparations are supplied.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, after the transaction, the value of which was not disclosed at the time of implementation, Ipakem LLC changed its name to Agrokhim Solutions LLC. Market participants associate the company "Management of agricultural assets" with the agricultural holding "Tavros," which manages 117 thousand hectares of agricultural land and produces meat, sugar, confectionery, etc. Tavros itself reported that Agroassets Management is an independent company with which Tavros had joint projects. At the same time, it is emphasized that Tavros has nothing to do with the deal to acquire the Russian business of Ipackchem.
Dmitry Rylko, General Director of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies, believes that Agroasset Management has acquired the Russian structure of Ipackchem in order to enter new markets. Against the background of reduced imports of packaged products, the need for containers for agrochemistry will grow. On the other hand, industry participants do not exclude that Ipackchem's assets in Russia were acquired by Agroassets Management for the purpose of subsequent resale.[1]
