Air China Limited (Air China) is a nationwide Chinese airline and provider of passenger, air cargo, and related products and services. The carrier's head office is located in Beijing, where China's main domestic and international air harbor is located. The airline provides aviation services, including aircraft repairs and ground handling services in Beijing, Chengdu and other locations. Since August 18, 2006, the airline's shares have been listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange under the code 601111.
The passenger transportation network includes 420 routes, including 101 international, 16 regional and 303 domestic. The Company's route network covers 185 cities in 40 countries and regions of the world, including 66 international centers, three regional and 116 domestic destinations. Since December 15, 2004, Air China has been listed on the Hong Kong and London Stock Exchange under the codes 00753 and AIRC, respectively.

In December 2025, it was announced that the state-owned airline Air China would acquire 60 Airbus A320neo aircraft for $9.5 billion between 2028 and 2032.

2017: Turnover growth of 7% to 124 billion yuan
In 2017, the Group's total turnover was RMB124.026 billion, up 7.71% year-on-year. Air revenue rose 7.53% year-on-year, reaching RMB115.380 billion. Income from passenger traffic increased by 6.19%, and from freight traffic - by 23.48%. Operating income from other activities amounted to 8.646 billion yuan of the PRC, which is 10.19% higher compared to the previous period.
- Operating expenses increased by 15.02% to 112.270 billion yuan of the PRC. The increase in aviation fuel costs on an annualized basis amounted to 6.427 billion yuan of the PRC, or 29.24% compared to the same period of the previous year. During the reporting period, the Group received a foreign exchange gain of RMB2.938 billion.
- Pre-tax profits rose 12.47% year-on-year, reaching RMB11.486 billion.
- In 2017, pre-tax profit amounted to 11.486 billion yuan of the PRC, which is 12.47% more than in 2016. Net income reached 8.641 billion yuan of the PRC, or 11.38% more on an annualized basis. Net profit attributable to shareholders of companies registered on the stock exchange amounted to 7.244 billion yuan of the PRC, which is 6.39% more than in the previous year. Based on the Company's 2017 profit sharing plan, the Board recommends sending 10% of the profit after tax to a mandatory reserve fund, and another 10% to a voluntary reserve fund, followed by the payment of cash dividends for the past year in the amount of 1.1497 yuan PRC (including taxes) for every ten shares. The corresponding plan for the payment of cash dividends will be submitted to the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of the Company for 2017.
- During the reporting period, the Company's throughput capacity, calculated in available ton-kilometers (DTC), amounted to 35.673 billion, which is 5.61% more than in the previous year. Traffic measured in profitable ton kilometers (PTK) amounted to 25.385 billion, or 7.12% more on an annualized basis.
- During the reporting period, the Group provided transportation of 102 million passengers, which is 5.15% more than in 2016. Passenger turnover, measured by the available passenger-kilometer (CPD), increased by 6.26% - to 247.815 billion. The capacity of domestic and international routes increased by 5.88% and 7.80%, respectively, and the capacity of regional routes, on the contrary, decreased by 1.99%. The total passenger traffic measured by the profitable passenger-kilometer (PPK) increased by 6.87% - to 210.078 billion. Traffic on domestic, international and regional routes increased by 6.16%, 8.55% and 2.79% year-on-year, respectively. Passenger seat occupancy ratio rose 0.46 percentage points to 81.14%. In 2017, the Group introduced 56 new aircraft and decommissioned 11 aircraft. The total size of the fleet was 655 aircraft with an average age of 6.53 years.
