Plans to invest ₽60 billion in the development of the resort
On October 18, 2024, it became known that the governor of the Chelyabinsk region, Alexei Teksler, announced large-scale investments in the development of the Ajigardak ski resort. By 2028, it is planned to invest about ₽60 billion in the project. This statement was made at the All-Russian conference call on preparations for the winter tourist season of 2024-2025.
According to TASS, the investment is aimed at expanding the network of ski slopes and improving the infrastructure of the resort. The agreement on the development of Ajigardak was signed between the government of the Chelyabinsk region and the management of the project company in June 2024 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Ajigardak is one of the oldest ski resorts in Russia with a history of more than 40 years. Currently, the resort has 14 ski slopes and 7 lifts. The implementation of the new project is designed to make Ajigardak one of the best ski resorts in the country.
The governor noted that in the upcoming winter season, 30 ski complexes will operate in the Chelyabinsk region. Most of them will begin work in the second half of November 2024. The total length of 52 trails in these resorts is about 57 km.
In addition to the ski infrastructure, a network of tourist routes is developing in the region. Currently, there are more than 140 trails with a total length of over 1.1 thousand km, including a unique route through the Ural Mountains.
The development of Ajigardak and other ski complexes in the region is part of a strategy to increase the tourist attractiveness of the Chelyabinsk region. It is expected that the implementation of the project will not only improve the quality of recreation for fans of winter sports, but also make a significant contribution to the economic development of the region.[1]
