2020: An exit on Russian wounds

Acer announced the beginning of deliveries to Russia of the equipment and the software of the subsidiary company Altos Computing Inc. Will present the integrated solutions created on the basis of own developments and intended for a wide range of clients and also products for IT infrastructure at the Russian Altos market. It became known on May 13, 2020.

The solutions Altos are high-performance computing, infrastructure of virtual desktops (VDI), cloud infrastructure, software-defined storages — are used on servers, workstations, in networks and storage systems. Among clients there are supplier companies of cloud services, data processing centers, government and educational institutions, commercial enterprises.

The main competitive advantages of solutions of Altos — the high speed of work, reliability and cost efficiency. The company independently develops modern technologies, and own team of researchers and developers accumulated impressive experience which is used during creation of products. In particular, the command has disruptive developments in the field of artificial intelligence and programmable logic integrated circuits (FPGA).

Also Altos is engaged in production of a number of products for IT infrastructure, such as servers in different form factors, workstations, storage systems. Their use allows clients to get competitive advantage and to expand presence in the market.

In Russia the solutions Altos were for the first time shown to customers in 1997 and now in 2020 Acer carries out start of sales of the updated product lines of the company.

Exit of Altos Computing Inc. on the Russian market will allow our partners to add a portfolio of business solutions of Acer with infrastructure products and to increase turnover in segments of the state and corporate deliveries — Dmitry Kravchenko, the CEO of Acer in Russia notes. — Products will traditionally differ in the high quality and reliability inherent to all products of Acer. At the same time we will continue to use the competences of customization of mass solutions under requirements of specific customers. Also it is necessary to carry the high speed of decision making and quality of partner relations to competitive advantages of Acer.

In Russia Altos will provide servers in tower and rack execution, in particular, the Altos R369 and Altos R389 models, the graphic stations, including their dual-processor modifications, thin clients, storage systems and also a number of infrastructure solutions for specialized areas, in particular, for the medical industry.

2017

In 2017 Altos was selected in separate company in structure of Acer holding.

1990

Acer was purchased by Altos in 1990, together with all experience of design hardware and the software, and from this point proposes solutions of Altos worldwide.

1977

The American company Altos was founded in 1977 and specialized in server solutions for Unix systems.
