2021: Obtaining permission to start of drones without operator

In the middle of January, 2021 the Federal Aviation Administration of the USA (FAA) provided to American Robotics company permission to start of civil multikopter without the need for presence nearby of the operator. Drones will be able to fly up from the stationary terminal and to come back without participation of the operator, however each flight all the same should be performed under supervision of the managing director.

The permission issued to FAA allows to initiate flights of drones in the automatic mode only in some regions of the USA at the height not higher than 121 m. Permission also assumes that every time the pilot who can not be with the drone in one area should carry out preflight preparation which includes assessment of a status of the aircraft and a situation in airspace around it.

American Robotics got permission to flights of drones without managing director nearby

American Robotics is going to use for starts the terminal for Scout drones. It represents a container with the opened roof and the lifting take-off platform, the device works together with the quadcopter equipped with the camera. The mass of all equipment reaches 9 kg. Before take-off the container opens a roof and lifts the platform with the drone, at the same time monitoring existence of other aircraft using the speaker system of tracking which works in a radius of 3.2 km. At detection of other flying devices the drone automatically will begin decrease. Flight and landing can be performed in the automatic mode, after landing the terminal charges the drone accumulator and also transfers collected data to the managing director.

Automatic flights are approved by FAA only for several specific places in Kansas, Massachusetts and Nevada. The American Robotics technology is focused not on the delivery services, and on the companies which want to perform automatic air inspections of the property.[1]
