2023: Medinj bought 20% of Aniko
In early December 2023, it became known that the Penza company Medinzh, a Russian manufacturer of implantable medical devices for cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, traumatology, orthopedics and other areas, became a co-owner of the Aniko startup. This firm develops specialized equipment for cardiac surgery.
Startup "Aniko," formed in 2017, created an apparatus for radio frequency ablation Aniko RFA. It is claimed that the device opens up new possibilities in the treatment of diseases associated with heart rhythm disorders. Device is intended for formation of electrically non-conducting sections on certain sections of heart tissue, which prevent passage of impulses, which contribute to pathological excitation of heart muscle. The apparatus can be used in the treatment of congenital and acquired heart defects, ischemic disease complicated by arrhythmias, in isolated forms of arrhythmia, in particular, in atrial fibrillation, as well as in aorto-coronary bypass surgery.
Under the terms of the agreement, Medinj acquires a 20 percent stake in Aniko. The owner of 80% is the founder of the startup Vladimir Kulkov. There is no information on the amount of the transaction as of December 6, 2023, but it is known that investments in the Aniko RFA project exceed 3 million rubles.
The Medinge website says that the company produces products for different areas, including general surgery, but the key area of interest is cardiovascular surgery. The acquisition of a stake in Aniko will strengthen its position in the relevant segment. It is noted that Aniko has been a resident of the Rameev technopark since 2018, where it is adjacent to Medinzha enterprises.
