History

2025: Agreement with the Skolkovo Foundation on the creation of a research center

The Skolkovo Foundation (ВЭБ.РФ Group) and AppScience have signed a cooperation agreement. A research center will be created on the basis of the company, which will develop and localize raw materials for pharma, biotech, cosmetics and other import-dependent industries. AppScience announced this on October 7, 2025.

As part of the agreement, the parties will create programs and joint working groups that will focus on the implementation of health projects. Work will be carried out to determine priority areas for the development and production of active pharmaceutical substances (APIs) on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as critical intermediates and reagents.

Skolkovo and AppScience agreed to exchange the necessary analytics, expertise, scientific data and practices in the field of health care, as well as work on expanding the partner network and strengthening cooperation with foreign organizations. The signing of the agreement will contribute to the implementation of strategic goals to ensure technological independence and the formation of new markets within the framework of the national project of technological leadership.

At AppScience, we see a promising technological leader, whom we, as a foundation, will help nurture technologies, look for technical solutions, as well as assemble and "package" promising teams that are engaged in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology. We will help the partner to increase the competence of both scientific and production. Skolkovo's global task by 2030 is to grow 20 technological leaders who will occupy at least a quarter of the market. With their own lines of development, such companies will become leaders in their niches,
said Kamil Zarubin, Managing Director of the Department for Development of Priority Projects of the Skolkovo Foundation.

The company aims to build a complex chemistry industry in Russia by establishing the production of complex chemical components, which are used in a number of industries, but are currently mainly imported. The share of such imports reaches 80%, so there is a large gap in the production chain that needs to be filled. Our company builds vertical integration: distribution - product development - in-house production. In the development of products, we go, first of all, from the client's request, and then gradually build the entire product chain down to the Russian base raw materials. Thanks to cooperation with the Skolkovo Center, which has a set of research and production competencies, we will be able to effectively develop and produce new products, "said Igor Yaremenko, co-founder of AppScience.
