As of April 2020, the main shareholder of the enterprise is Pulp Mill Holding GmbH (100%).

2012

As of 2012, the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill is an enterprise of the Central Bank of Russia, one of the largest manufacturers of cardboard, packaging, pulp and student notebooks in Russia. Located in the city of Novodvinsk.

Owners and Management

97.42% of OJSC Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill Holding is owned by Pulp Mill Holding.

Activity

The company specializes in the production of cardboard, packaging, pulp and student notebooks. Now there are two paper factories, a paper shop, where dozens of types of products are produced, and TPPs. About 80 thousand tons of pulp produced at the plant is processed into paper.

The Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill has three paper machines: a BDM-3 manufactured by the German company Fülner, BDM-4 (the most powerful, capable of producing up to 36 thousand tons of paper annually), and a BDM-6 producing about 15 thousand tons of paper per year.

The paper and white workshop of the ACBK produces more than 350 million pieces of school notebooks per year. Today, the plant is the largest producer of student notebooks in Russia, it accounts for about 25%.

Productions

In the structure of the ADBC, there are four main industries: cellulose, cardboard, paper and fiberboard. The main production is related to the cooking of pulp and the release of such products as, commercial pulp, cardboard and paper.

The total pulping capacity of the mill is 960 thousand tons, which are divided into three streams:

  • 1st stage - production of sulfite cellulose and paper with capacity - in 1997 the production of sulfite cellulose was stopped.
  • 2nd stage - sulfate-cardboard production
  • 3rd stage - production of bleached kraft pulp

In addition, the ADBC is integrated with a number of logging enterprises, has its own thermal power plants and a number of auxiliary industries.

1940-2010

  • 1940 - the first workshops of the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill were put into operation. By the end of the year, almost 100 tons of unbleached pulp and more than 140 tons of wrapping paper were produced.

With the outbreak of World War II, the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill began producing products for military needs.

  • 1942 - a plant for the production of ethyl alcohol was launched.
  • 1944 - the foundry concentrates workshop was launched.

For excellent work during the war, the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill was awarded annually by the passing Red Banner of the People's Commissariat of Education.

  • 1946 - By the Decree of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions and the Ministry of the Pulp and Paper Industry for excellent work during the Great Patriotic War, the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill transferred the Red Banner of the People's Commissariat for eternal storage.

In the difficult post-war years, the ADBC increased capacity, increasing the production of sulfite cellulose and mastering the production of paper.

  • 1948 - the production of viscose pulp began.
  • 1954 - a single-frame sawmill was launched.
  • 1955 - the production of cellulose for the production of tissue paper was mastered.
  • 1960 - with the launch of the paper mill, the plant begins to master the technology of producing high-grade types of paper. In parallel, a waste water treatment workshop is being commissioned.
  • 1961 - the first export supplies of fiberboard.
  • 1962 - mastered the production of writing paper and the basis for photo paper.
  • 1963 - the notebook shop was put into operation, the first batch of writing paper was exported.
  • 1968 - sulfate-cardboard production was built and commissioned. A year later, cardboard begins to be exported.
  • 1972 - ACBK was awarded a diploma of VDNH for the development of technology for the production of light cardboard.
  • 1975 - a bleached kraft pulp plant was launched, the first automated production control system (APCS) was used.

Since that time, the ADBC has become the country's largest multidisciplinary enterprise, which has no equal in capacity in Europe.

  • 1977 - by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the village of Pervomaisky, where the ADBC is located, was renamed the city of Novodvinsk.

If the 70s can be considered a stage in the development of capacities, then the 80s are the time of reconstruction.

  • 1981 - By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill was awarded the Order of Lenin for the great successes achieved in increasing production and improving product quality.
  • 1983 - a million tons of white sulfate cellulose was produced.
  • 1988 - the plant switched to self-billing.
  • 1992 - ACBK becomes a joint stock company.
  • 1994 - restructuring of the ACBC, during which 11 independent subsidiaries are created. The beginning of the crisis.
  • 1996 - a crisis in domestic industry, the ADBC is on the verge of bankruptcy
  • 1997 - ADBC becomes a company with almost 100 percent private capital. A large block of shares is concentrated at the production and commercial enterprise Titan, significant shares are concentrated at Western investors.
  • 1998 - reform of the organizational and management structure of the plant. Two open joint stock companies were formed: Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill (production) and Arkhbum (supply and distribution).
  • 2000 - The ADBC solemnly celebrates its 60th anniversary.
  • 2001, October 19 - a 25 millionth ton of pulp was welded from the date of the start of the ADBC in 1940.
  • 2003 - Pulp Mill Holding (Austria) becomes the managing company of the Arkhangelsk Pulp Mill.
  • 2005 - the 65th anniversary of the ACBC.
  • 2007 - a new wood preparation workshop was put into operation DPTs-4
  • 2010 - the 70th anniversary of the ACBC.
