2021: Hackers robbed the exchange at $77.7
The cryptocurrency exchange AscendEX, based in Singapore, in December 2021 announced that its hot wallets Ethereum, Polygon and Binance Smart Chain were hacked by hackers, and the investigation is still ongoing.
According to PeckShield estimates, hackers withdrew $77.7 million from the Bitcoin Exchange. In particular, $8.5 million was stolen in Polygon network tokens, $9.2 million in the BSC network, $60 million in the Ethereum network.
Earlier, hackers withdrew more than $150 million from the hot wallets of the cryptocurrency exchange BitMart, registered in the Cayman Islands.
