It is emphasized that over a long period of time, the activities of Avtogradbank were characterized by the inefficiency of the business model, the reduction and deterioration of the quality of assets. At the same time, top managers received "significant incentive payments." All this led to regular losses and a decrease in the size of own funds. Plus, the Central Bank notes, the credit institution served clients who participated in suspicious transactions in significant volumes aimed at withdrawing funds into shadow circulation.

On June 17, 2024, dozens of people gathered near the head office of Avtogradbank in Naberezhnye Chelny. This and other branches of the bank are closed, and banking operations are suspended. Avtogradbank is a member of the deposit insurance system, so the savings will be returned to customers in the amount of 100% of the balance of funds, but not more than 1.4 million rubles in total per depositor (including accrued interest on deposits).
