Avtodizel OJSC (Yaroslavl Motor Plant)
Founded in 1916, Avtodizel OJSC (Yaroslavl Motor Plant, Yamz) is today one of the largest Russian enterprises specializing in the production of multipurpose diesel engines, clutches and gearboxes. Yaroslavl engines are installed on commercial vehicles, buses, main road trains, pit dump trucks, airfield tractors, combine harvesters, timber trucks, excavators, etc.
Yaroslavl Motor Plant is one of the largest manufacturers of engines for military equipment in Russia in 2023.
History
2023: Fire during Russia's special operation in Ukraine
A fire broke out on the territory of the Yaroslavl Motor Plant on March 23, 2023: transformer oil burns on an area of 30 sq.m.
EMERCOM employees took seven people out of the building, another 218 were evacuated by the administration of the facility.
Emergency services successfully localized the fire.
2001: Joining GAZ Group
In 2001, Avtodizel OJSC (YaMZ) became part of RusPromAvto LLC, which was subsequently transformed into GAZ Group (the parent company).
