History
2019: Buying Balkan Media Group from KKR
In September 2018, British private equity firm BC Partners began the process of acquiring a majority stake in United Group from KKR for an enterprise valuation of 2.6 billion euros. The acquisition was completed on March 4, 2019.
2001: Otto Van der Wick leaves the firm
Otto Van der Wick left the firm in 2001.
1995: BC Partners spin-off after Barings collapse
Executives at Baring Capital Investors completed a spin-off of what became BC Partners after Barings collapsed in 1995.
1986: Founding of Baring Capital Investors
The firm was founded in 1986 as Baring Capital Investors Ltd. Otto van der Wycombe, who was also a co-founder of CVC Capital Partners. BC Partners was originally set up by Barings to advise funds providing capital for development, in particular management's share buybacks.
