In August 2021, it was decided to create the Beijing Stock Exchange. The Chinese regulator notes that the Beijing Exchange will differ from the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges, it will be the main platform for innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs, SMEs).
The Beijing Stock Exchange will act in coordination with the "new third council" (National Stock and Quotation Exchange, NEEQ), maintaining a balanced market structure.
