2024:34% increase in energy generation to 15.7 billion kWh
In 2024, BelNPP generated about 15.7 billion kWh of electricity, which is almost 4 billion kWh (or 34%) more than in 2023. This was announced in January 2025 by the press service of the Ministry of Energy. According to the general director of the Belenergo association Andrei Panchenko, planned preventive repairs are being carried out at the first power unit according to the schedule, and diagnostics of sensors of the support systems of the second unit continue. Given that there are a large number of such sensors on the unit, their revision takes a certain time.[1]

2021: Hacking the site
On April 25, 2021, the Ministry power engineering specialists Belarus announced the hacking of the website of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant. As a result cyber attacks hackers , fake information was posted on the Internet resource of the enterprise.

As indicated in the message on the website, official Minsk is trying to hide from the public information about breakdowns in the station service system and equipment malfunctions. Unknown persons called themselves employees of the atomic facility and noted that its operation in the current conditions could lead to a catastrophe.

The authors of the text noted that the text was published specifically on April 25, on the eve of the Chernobyl accident. They called on the "international community" to put pressure on President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to get him to close the BelNPP. The Ministry of Energy of Belarus called this information fake and said that the work of the BelNPP website is being restored.
Experts call this type of hacker attack "deface," when a website page is replaced by another page, most often containing ads, threats or triggering warnings, page. In addition to this, attackers either block access to other segments of the site, or even delete the previous content of the resource.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant will consist of two power units, each with a capacity of 1200 MW. The first power unit of the BelNPP by April 2021 at the nominal power level. The second unit is planned to be put into commercial operation in 2022, its readiness by April 2021 is 80%.[2]
