The BELVEST joint venture was created in 1988 in Vitebsk (Republic of Belarus) by two oldest shoe enterprises of Europe – the German firm "Salamander" and the Vitebsk factory "Red October". In 1989 the first pair of shoes is released, and at the end of 1991 the enterprise reached design capacity.
