2024: Imposition of a fine of 1 million rubles on the general director for trying to bribe the head of the pharmacy

The general director of Brix Pharma LLC, a pharmaceutical company from Penza, was found guilty of trying to bribe the head of a pharmacy and fined ₽1 million. This became known on October 1, 2024.

According to the prosecutor's office of the Penza region, the incident occurred on April 5, 2024, when the general director of Brix Pharma handed over ₽78 thousand to the head of the pharmacy of one of the medical institutions. The bribe was intended for creating advantages when choosing a supplier of medicines in the interests of Brix Pharma.

The prosecutor's office said that the corruption scheme was uncovered thanks to the vigilance of an official of a medical institution, who reported an attempt to bribe law enforcement agencies. The illegal actions of the bribe giver were suppressed immediately after the transfer of illegal remuneration.

The court found the general director of Brix Pharma guilty under part 3 of article 30 and part 3 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (an attempt to bribe an official personally in a significant amount for committing deliberately illegal actions). In addition to the fine imposed on the head, the legal entity Brix Pharma LLC itself was also brought to justice.

The prosecutor's office of the Oktyabrsky district of Penza opened an administrative offense case against the company under Part 1 of Article 19.28 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (illegal remuneration on behalf of and in the interests of a legal entity). By the decision of the magistrate, Brix Pharma LLC was fined ₽500 thousand.

At the time of publication of the material, the court verdict against the Director General and the decision on a fine for a legal entity did not enter into legal force.

According to the analytical service Rusprofile, Brix Pharma LLC was founded in Penza in August 2015. The company specializes in the wholesale of pharmaceutical goods. The authorized fund of the organization is ₽10 thousand. From the moment of its foundation to this day, Marina Serova holds the post of general director.

During its existence, Brix Pharma participated as a supplier in 256 government contracts with a total value of ₽174 million. However, the company's activities were not without legal problems: 355 enforcement proceedings were initiated against it, of which 331 related to penalties.

Despite legal difficulties, the company's financial performance over the past year shows positive dynamics. With revenues of ₽47 million, the net profit of Brix Pharma LLC amounted to ₽42 thousand. These figures indicate that the company continues to operate actively in the pharmaceutical market, despite the difficulties that arise.^[1]
