2021: Dentsply Sirona purchased Byte for $1 billion

At the beginning of January, 2021 Dentsply Sirona announced acquisition of the producer of transparent dental elayner of Byte within the transaction for the amount of $1.04 billion.

According to the press release, Byte takes the leading position in the market of the transparent elayner intended for a direct delivery to the consumer. Dentsply is going to add features for Byte to the business on production of elayner of SureSmile, at the same time strengthening relations with stomatologists for sales promotion worldwide.

The business model of Byte is focused on delivery of health care to patients with easy and moderate orthodontic problems under control of the doctor. Offers include planning of treatment and idle time in use a transparent elayner who is delivered directly to the house to the consumer.

The CEO of Byte Neeraj Gunsagar and present company management will continue business management after the transaction. Dentsply Sirona expects that Byte sales volume in 2021 will be not less than $200 million which will become pleasant additions to the expected $100 million income from SureSmile business. The transaction was closed on January 31, 2020 and paid at the expense of cash on the account of Dentsply Sirona.

In the last two years we implemented our restructuring plan, having strengthened research department, a supply chain and commercial platforms that allowed Dentsply Sirona to achieve long-term growth, - the CEO of Dentsply Sirona Don Casey reported. - Byte acquisition became the next step. We are happy with growth of our business on production of transparent elayner of SureSmile and are sure that adding of the innovation Byte platform will allow to expand volumes and quality of production in this market.[1]
