2019: Varian purchased CTSI for $283 million
In the middle of May, 2019 the producer of the medical equipment Varian Medical Systems announced acquisition of Cancer Treatment Services International (CTSI) for $283 million.
Thanks to the transaction Varian will obtain the clinical data crucial for expansion of the existing portfolio for cancer therapy. This purchase will accelerate detection of unsatisfied clinical and operational requirements, stimulating development of new technologies on the basis of services.
As a result of absorption the Varian company will have an opportunity to create the new cross-disciplinary solutions based on solid clinical data that finally will improve outcomes of patients. New offers will allow Varian to expand the technologies, joining in continuous growth business oncological systems.
Acquisition of CTSI will allow Varian to support the oncological centers around the world, will provide access to technology focused help and will create a feedback loop which will stimulate cost-efficient innovations. This transaction will expand experience of Varian in the field of work of the oncological centers that will allow to improve new partnership with suppliers worldwide, both on developed, and in emerging markets.
Varian will finance acquisition at the expense of borrowed funds. It is expected that the transaction will be closed by the beginning of June, 2019 at observance of all conditions of transaction.[1]
