History

2021: Jiji bought Cars45

At the end of June 2021, the African classification Jiji, founded by the Ukrainian IT company Genesis and Anton Volyansky, announced the purchase of the Cars45 car sales platform. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

As part of the deal with Cars45, Jiji plans to change the monetization model to earnings from fees from cash transactions on the platform.

There is no doubt that our partnership will bring additional value to customers. For Jiji, this is the first and bold step towards a transactional business model, as well as an important foundation in building the future of the company, "said Anton Volyansky, CEO and co-founder of Jiji.

Jiji Chief Financial Officer David Ojo drew attention to the main advantage of Cars45 - the presence of a network of inspection centers in which used cars are checked for more than 200 parameters.

We are proud that we have provided a reliable platform for the safe sale of cars. The merger with Jiji is aimed at creating a new type of retail auto trade in Africa. Together we will be able to become a leader in the automotive industry, "said Cars45 CEO Sumobroto Ganguly.

The acquisition of the Cars45 will help mitigate the trust and security issues that Jiji has occasionally pursued and offer a different experience in buying and selling cars through its transactional business model. In turn, Cars45 users will benefit from Jiji's dominance in online ads.[1]
