2024: Establishment of the Centre

On November 11, 2024, it became known that the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Urban Planning was created in Moscow. He studies the needs of all participants in the construction process and citizens, and also develops and implements innovative solutions for the relevant area.

The mayor of the Russian capital Sergei Sobyanin spoke about the activities of the center. According to him, by the end of 2024, four services have been deployed at the site, which simplify the solution of various tasks, as well as increase the efficiency of work and reduce the burden on specialists. One of the new tools allows you to analyze the land plot plan and predict its urban planning potential: data for this is extracted and structured using special AI algorithms. In addition, a calculator of procedures in the field of construction has been introduced: it makes it possible to plan the life cycles of the project online. At the same time, AI helps to check with the current regulatory framework.

Moscow City Hall has launched a center for the development and implementation of AI in urban planning. The first services have already been launched

Another service was called "Housing": it is intended for the automatic development of planning solutions under the renovation program. Three layout options can be generated in about two minutes. The system allows you to increase the efficiency of living space use by 35%. The fourth service is "Digital Standard Control" - verification of the design and working documentation. Thanks to this AI system, it takes 10 minutes to check the documentation package, and the labor is reduced by 50%.

Other innovative solutions are also in the works: monitoring the progress of construction, finding collisions in BIM models (information modeling of buildings), planning development and development of urban areas based on evolutionary calculations, Sobyanin notes.[1]
