2019: Agreement on creation of the center

Ruselectronics holding of State Corporation Rostec together with "NMITs of radiology" and the Czech company Proton Therapy Development will create in the territory of the Kaluga region the center of proton therapy for treatment of oncological diseases. Under the terms of the agreement, the center of proton therapy will be created by 2024. The Engineering marketing center "Vega Concern, entering into Ruselectronics became operator of the project. Proton Therapy Development will act as the co-investor.

The agreement was signed the CEO "Vega Concern by Vyacheslav Mikheyev, the CEO of "NMITs of radiology" Andrey Kaprin and the head of Proton Therapy Development Lyudek Padola in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Health of the Czech republic Roman Primul.

Rostec together with partners creates the centers of proton therapy to increase availability of advanced methods of treatment of oncological diseases in Russia. The center of proton therapy which will appear in the Kaluga region will be equipped according to the highest technology standards. The total amount of investments into the project will be about 12 billion rubles", – the head of Rostec Sergey Chemezov told.

Proton therapy is one of the most effective methods of treatment of oncological diseases allowing to avoid surgical intervention in many cases. Since 2020 this method will be included into the program of the hi-tech medical care financed from means of compulsory health insurance.

Lyudek Podola, the head of Proton Therapy Development, considers that proton therapy is a vanguard of modern nuclear medicine. Advantage of a technique consists that protons emit the main part of the energy precisely in the place of localization of a cancer tumor, without mentioning healthy fabrics.

This most effective remedy of treatment of many types of oncological diseases, especially at children, - he notes.

Creation of the centers of proton therapy of oncological diseases is one of key tasks of Rostec within implementation of the Health care national project. The state corporation builds such centers in Moscow, Primorsky Krai, Novosibirsk and Obninsk.
