Terroir

The proximity of the sea with good sea breeze ventilation provides a mild Mediterranean microclimate. In winter, the sea gives heat to the vineyard, helping to resist frosts, and in summer provides its natural cooling. In turn, the uniqueness of the soil composition ensures the slow and uniform ripening of grapes of the highest quality. Geographically, the vineyards are between 44 and 45 degrees north, as are the southern zones of Piedmont and Bordeaux. Terroir in the Gelendzhik district is divided into 2 sections: 35 hectares on Tolstoy Cape in close proximity to the winery and 66 hectares in the vicinity of the village. The main soils on Tolstoy Cape are marl.

International grape varieties are cultivated in vineyards. Seedlings of European grapes were purchased from the Jean-guy & Bruno Arrive nursery (France) (except for the autochthonous Krasnostop and Saperavi).
