2025: Sale of retail space in Yekaterinburg to an entrepreneur from Tatarstan for 168 million rubles
Chanel sold its owned sites in the Russian Federation, which were located in Yekaterinburg, namely, in the Gallery Luxury shopping center. These are three rooms, a total of a little more than 600 square meters. m. They were bought by Russian entrepreneur Lina Kurbanova for 168 million rubles. At a meeting of the government's Foreign Investment Control Commission, which took place at the end of February 2025, officials approved the deal. According to the company's website, the Chanel brand has 18 leased premises in the Moscow region.[1]
2024: Rupture of store rental contracts in Russia due to losses
In March 2024, it became known that Chanel finally breaks all contracts that allow it, since stores are closed for the third year, and their net loss in 2022 amounted to 1.8 billion rubles.
Chanel can no longer wait for the lifting of EU sanctions against Russia, which is clearly not planned in the foreseeable future.
