Chelyabinsk Electric Locomotive Repair Plant, Russian Railways

Chelyabinsk ERZ carries out overhaul, medium repair and service maintenance of traction rolling stock, as well as repair of electric machines, wheelsets, locomotive assemblies and assemblies, production of spare parts for rolling stock.

The company repairs and maintains DC freight locomotives of the VL10, VL11, VL15 series of all indices. The plant mastered the repair of rolling stock for mining sections (PE-2M, OPE-1 and EL21). Also, the plant is currently mastering the repair of AC electric locomotives VL80 and the Donchak 2ES4K.

CHERZ serves locomotives operating at the landfill of the South Ural, Kuibyshev, Moscow, October, West Siberian railways, as well as traction rolling stock operated on mining sections of the Ural region.

2018

Increase in the number of employees

The Chelyabinsk Electric Locomotive Repair Plant (CHERZ, part of the LokoTech group of companies) in February 2018 announced an increase in the number of employees by 460 people in 2017 compared to 2016. Thus, as of February 8, 2018, the company employs over 2,900 people. At the same time, it is planned to accept about a hundred more people in February. The creation of new jobs is associated with an increase in the production plan of CHERZ, which is mastering the direction of repair of electric locomotives.

Chelyabinsk ERZ in 2017 increased the staff by 460 workers

Electrician-circuit operator, rolling stock repairman, electrical machine repairman - the main directions in which the personnel is being recruited. The average salary for the plant is more than 40 thousand rubles.

Also, in connection with the increase in the repair program since January, CHERZ switched to a round-the-clock operation in production units. Now there are two shifts at the plant: from 07.00 to 19:00 and from 19:00 to 07:00. Previously, the company worked in two shifts for eight hours (from 07.00 to 16.00 and from 16.00 to 00.00, without a night shift).

Plans for the release of sections of electric locomotives from repair

So, in 2018, the plant plans to release 290 sections of electric locomotives from repair VL80 against 64 a year earlier. This requires another concept of organization of production, re-equipment of workshops, increasing the number of workers, significant financial costs and investments.

2017: Development of electric locomotive repair

The main direction of production at CHERZ for many years was the repair of DC freight locomotives of the VL10, VL11, VL15 series. From the second half of 2017, the plant began to master the repair of AC VL80 and DC electric locomotives 2ES4K Donchak.
