History
2022: Ukraine launches missile strike on company's rigs
On June 20, 2022, Ukraine launched a missile strike on Chernomorneftegaz drilling rigs, said the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov.
After systematic preparation at 4 o'clock in the morning, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began a fire defeat of Snake Island.
At the first stage, massive strikes attempted to destroy Russian objects on Zmein. However, timely measures taken by the Russian command did not allow the Ukrainian forces to achieve the initial goal.
Because of this failure, the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to attack the Chernomorneftegaz gas production platform. The strikes were carried out on drilling and block conductors at the Odessa field 40 km east of the island. As a result of this, a fire occurred. The evacuation of the injured company personnel began.
Units of the RF Armed Forces responded by striking high-precision weapons at the Shkolny and Artsiz airfields, as well as, according to local residents, at the facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Belgorod-Dniester and the vicinity of Ovdiopol.
The blow inflicted by the Ukrainian army on the three drilling platforms of Chernomorneftegaz led to a major oil spill in the Black Sea.
The area of the oil slick is about 9 square kilometers and it drifts towards the coast of Romania.
2014: After the reunification of Crimea, the company's drilling platforms are transferred to the jurisdiction of Russia
In 2014, Russia received drilling platforms 100 km from Odessa and 150 km from Crimea.
