China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC, "China State Shipbuilding Corporation") is a shipbuilding corporation in China. Founded in 1999, merged with China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. Headquartered in Beijing, the main production facilities are concentrated in the cities of Shanghai and Guangzhou.
History
2025: Merging with China Shipbuilding Industry - New Company Becomes World's Largest
China The merger procedure of two state shipbuilding companies is being completed. The merger is estimated at $16 billion. The merger of China State Shipbuilding (CSSC) and China Shipbuilding Industry forms the world's largest shipbuilding company with a 17% share in the global market and a total revenue of about $18 billion. Its combined order portfolio includes more than 530 vessels with a total deadweight of 54 million tons. This was announced in August 2025 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).[1]
