Berezniki – one of the centers of chemical industry of Russia.

Large industrial enterprises were and remain the city basis of the economy initially. Including, the "VSMPO-AVSIMA Corporation" only in Russia making a titanic sponge.

The Uralkali company (more than 40% of the total production of industrial output in the city) producing about 13 percent of all potash fertilizers in the world, UK UralChem LLC branch (ammonia, ammonium and sodium nitrate, complex liquid fertilizers), JSC Beraton (dyes, photochemical and paint and varnish products).

Existence in the city of Berezniki of a powerful source of raw materials allowed to create a complex of the technologies of receiving soda, sodoprodukt which are closely connected among themselves and chlorine derivatives. Products of JSC BSZ (and also JSC Soda-Hlorat) have broad application in chemical, glass, pulp-and-paper, electronic, oil processing and other industries. In total in the city about 2.5 thousand enterprises and the organizations of different patterns of ownership work.
