From Kazan to Innopolis, a cable car will be built for 23 billion rubles
In Tatarstan, the construction of a cable car will begin, which will connect Kazan, Verkhny Uslon and Innopolis. Director of the scientific and production organization "Gulliver" Damir Altynbaev in September 2024 presented the main stages and parameters of the project. The project is estimated at ₽ 23 billion and will be implemented in three stages. The cable car will become an important element of the region's transport infrastructure, providing convenient and fast communication between cities and the district.
According to RBC, the first stage of construction involves the connection of Kazan with Upper Uslon. The length of the section will be 8.6 km, and about ₽10 billion will be required for its implementation. The road will be able to carry up to 2.4 thousand passengers per hour, working 20 hours a day. Travel time will be only 24 minutes, which will allow residents of several districts to quickly get to the center of Kazan, to the Kremlin metro station. The starting point of the route will be the stadium area or the coastline, which is now under discussion.
The second stage of the construction of the cable car provides for the further connection of Upper Uslon with neighboring areas. The length of this section will be 6 km, and its implementation will require another ₽6 billion. The third stage will extend the cable car to Innopolis, with a length of 10 km and an investment volume of ₽7 billion. Thus, the completion of all stages of the project will make it possible to connect Kazan with the innovative city of Innopolis, significantly improving transport links in the region.
The construction of the cable car is supposed to be implemented using modules, which will speed up the implementation time. According to Altynbayev, when solving all organizational issues, the first stage can be completed in 10-12 months. The high level of factory readiness of the modular elements of the project helps to reduce construction time and reduce costs.[1]
