2020: Tele2 selected the Chechen business in the new company

Tele2 selected the Chechen business in the new company — "Communication — ChR" which, as expected, will be sold. The relevant decision was made by the mobile operator on November 11, 2020, however information on reorganization was published only at the beginning of December.

According to ComNews, the solution to select the structure assets in the Chechen Republic accepted Tele2 LLC which completely controls Rostelecom. Tele2 in Chechnya owns GSM frequencies in Chechnya, but does not work at the territory of this North Caucasian republic. Tele2 got this frequency resource together with Sky Link company which in 2007 received a band 30 MHz wide in the range of 1800 MHz in the republic.

The edition source in Tele2 says that creation of Communication — ChR company will become "revolutionary" process: the second half of GSM frequencies in Chechnya — slightly less than 15 MHz will be transferred to the new legal person, after his state registration. On the next stage the share in this new legal person will be sold to the Chechen partner — by the beginning of December, 2020 Vaynakh Telecom is considered the most probable buyer.

Purchases of the companies for the sake of receiving a radio frequency spectrum in Russia — not news. And here inverse process – removal of frequencies in the new legal person and his subsequent sale — a precedent: anybody had no such practice yet — the interlocutor noted.

According to him, the Board of Directors of Rostelecom approved the transaction which is going to be closed to the middle of 2021 now.

The head of Vaynakh Telecom Anwar Ismailov confirmed to ComNews that the operator uses Tele2 GSM frequencies on the MVNO model and itself enters a payment for use of a radio frequency spectrum. The company is interested in additional frequencies for business expansion, he said, but at the same time did not begin to comment on creation "Communication - ChR".^[1]
