2024: Centre launch
In May 2024, the First Moscow State University named after I.M. Sechenov announced the launch of the Center for Competence in Pharmacy and Biotechnology, which operates on the basis of the A.P. Nelyubin Institute of Pharmacy.
The project was created in order to assess how competent university students are. In addition, the Center will prepare and issue accreditation in various areas of the pharmacological industry. In particular, the training of technologists and analysts of pharmacies, pharmacists-managers, quality controllers, technologists of biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries will be carried out.
The students will have a computer class, as well as a virtual reality class, in addition, laboratories and training grounds are equipped, said Elena Bakhrushina, associate professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of the IF named after Nelyubin. According to her, during the educational process, as well as when controlling the quality of knowledge, digital technologies will be used, such as computer and mobile software, virtual reality modules.
Specialists in some areas, for example, will be trained using the virtual reality program "Virtual Plant." There, students will solve problems from real industries engaged in the production of medicines.
In addition, the GxP Production Specialist VR program will be used (where GxP is the abbreviation Good Practice - good practice). This software is designed to enable students to work out the skills of employees in rooms D and C of cleanliness class. They produce sterile and non-sterile medicinal products.
Also, the center is working on two more programs. One of them teaches students to work on a high-performance liquid chromatograph. It is impractical for students to work on real equipment, because it is very expensive.
Finally, the Titration virtual reality program has been launched, which is designed to train schoolchildren and applicants to work in laboratory conditions. It will also be useful to students as a production practice.[1]
