1995: IDG changes publisher in Russia to "Open Systems"
In the spring of 1995, IDG decided to change its partner in Russia and began searching for new candidates. Future publishers of Computerworld faced a difficult task - the regular publication of the weekly needed to be resumed as soon as possible. In the young publishing house "Open Systems," seeing in a potential partnership with a global publishing corporation an excellent opportunity to take their company's business to a new level, they decided to take a chance. Open Systems, whose first project (PC World magazine) started only two years earlier, by then had the experience of publishing three technology magazines and its own, albeit small, computer newspaper.
Under the terms of the license agreement signed on July 20, 1995, six weeks later it was necessary to release the first number of the updated Computerworld, and from September - to arrange its release in the usual weekly mode. Computerworld Russia debuted in Open Systems on August 30, 1995.
1991: Computerworld USSR launch
In 1991, the Computerworld weekly appeared in Russia, published under license from the International Data Group. Computerworld of the USSR debuted a few months before a country with that name ceased to exist; the weekly was renamed Computerworld Moscow.
