2026: Nationalization
In early February 2026, the Kirovsky District Court of Yekaterinburg turned into state revenue the companies Korona Tekhet and Indra-M, which belonged to the former deputy of the State Duma and the ex-owner of the drug manufacturer Uralbiofarm Malika Gaysin. The value of nationalized assets exceeds 1 billion rubles, as reported by the prosecutor's office of the Sverdlovsk region.
In the course of supervisory measures, it was established that in 1996-2000, as a deputy of the State Duma of Russia, Gaysin personally and through proxies illegally participated in the management of business entities, used financial instruments and secretly owned them. Thanks to his post, he made a profit and developed a business. At the same time, it is alleged that the assets of Korona Takhet and Indra-M were formed at the expense of the property of legal entities previously turned into state revenue due to their corruption origin.
The prosecutor's office demanded that 100 percent of the shares in the authorized capital of Corona Tekhet LLC and Indra-M LLC, which own more than 300 land plots, be turned into state revenue. The court agreed with the prosecutor's arguments that the assets of the named companies are "transformed corruption income": the claim is fully satisfied.
Meanwhile, according to the Kommersant newspaper, at the end of February 2026, Elite Overalls filed a bankruptcy lawsuit against Gaysin: the amount of claims is 81.83 million rubles. In addition, the former State Duma deputy is a defendant in criminal cases under Part 1 of Art. 201 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of authority), part 4 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement on an especially large scale), part 1 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (embezzlement). These processes are delayed due to the state of health of the defendant.[1]
