In the largest university of the Republic of Crimea (8 academies and institutes, 5 colleges and centers, 11 branches throughout the Crimea and 7 scientific organizations) there is a Scientific Library with the richest book fund of educational, scientific and fiction literature.
2016: St. Petersburg State University continues to provide assistance to the Crimean University
St. Petersburg State University transferred more than 3 thousand books to the Crimean Federal University named after V.I. Vernadsky (KFU), according to a press release from the university sent to the editorial office. Textbooks, monographs and collections of scientific articles necessary for the implementation of the educational process will replenish the fund of the KFU Scientific Library.
These publications were selected by employees of the Scientific Library named after Gorky St. Petersburg State University and the Scientific Library of KFU from among the author's copies and the reserve fund, which includes copies of publications not involved in the information and bibliographic support of the educational process of St. Petersburg State University. In addition to the free transfer of books, the university provided Crimean colleagues with the opportunity to replenish their funds with textbooks and monographs issued by the university publishing house. KFU plans to acquire a number of titles of educational and scientific literature, authored by St. Petersburg scientists.
The interaction of St. Petersburg State University with Crimean universities has been going on for more than two years. In the summer of 2014, as part of the organization of assistance to the libraries of Crimea, negotiations were held with the directors of libraries of the Tauride National University named after V.I. Vernadsky (now KFU) and Sevastopol National Technical University. According to their results, employees of the Scientific Library named after Gorky St. Petersburg State University selected 4261 editions: 2862 copies were sent to KFU and 1399 to Sevastopol University.
In the fall of 2014, employees of the Scientific Library of St. Petersburg State University held a number of specialized seminars for librarians of Crimea on organizing the work of a modern university library. In particular, such issues as the specifics of accounting for the library fund in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, the formation of a repertoire of electronic resources, the formation of library funds, etc. were considered.
In 2015, at the initiative of law teachers, St. Petersburg State University, a collection of books on jurisprudence was collected and donated to Sevastopol State University. It includes author's monographs and textbooks by teachers of St. Petersburg State University, as well as modern scientific and educational publications in the field of law and legal sciences, published by leading Russian publishers - a total of 472 copies.
