History
2024: Four TPPs damaged by Russian Armed Forces missile strike
On April 27, 2024, a missile strike by the Russian Armed Forces was launched to generate electricity in the Lviv, Dnepropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. According to DTEK, four TPPs were damaged.
We are talking, apparently, about the Dobrotvorskaya, Krivorozhskaya, Pridneprovskaya and Burshtynskaya TPPs that are part of the DTEK structure. A photo of a fire that got into the Network, presumably at the Burshtynskaya TPP, indicates that the blow fell on the existing power units.
The Burshtynskaya TPP is most important for the Ukrainian energy system: it had 10 turbogenerators with secondary turbine speed control (after the previous strikes of the Russian Armed Forces, 4 probably remained in operation). It was they who made it possible to compensate for short-term fluctuations in electricity consumption. There was one such generator at the Dobrotvorskaya TPP.
2019: Production stoppage at Obukhovskaya Mine Management
Since June 28, 2019, Obukhovskaya Mine Management JSC (Rostov Region), which is part of the DTEK, has stopped coal production due to the filling of warehouses with coal products. Work on the passage of mine workings has ceased since the beginning of June. Three thousand workers were sent to downtime.
The company produces anthracite coal (the most valuable of all coal brands), which is not used in Russia, but is exported, mainly to energy enterprises in Ukraine.
In early 2012, Obukhovskaya was acquired by the Ukrainian company DTEK, owned by Rinat Akhmetov.
The Ministry of Economics of Ukraine refused to issue a permit for the export of Obukhovskaya coal to enterprises located in Ukraine.
2015: Nationalization of Krymenergo
In January 2015, the State Council of Crimea nationalized the company DTEK Krymenergo, which was part of the DTEK holding of Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov. The DTEK company owned by Akhmetov owned 57.49% of Krymenergo's shares.
The decision to nationalize the energy company, according to the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, is related to the actions of DTEK Krymenergo in recent years[1].
"You all know how Krymenergo worked." There was a real extortion of money from various enterprises under various pretexts, one way or another extorted money from Crimeans, "hesaid.
"We believe that the energy sector should be controlled by the state. I am sure that this company will bring more benefit to Crimea in state ownership, "said the head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov at a parliamentary meeting.
At the beginning of 2015, Krymenergo was one of the largest energy enterprises in the Crimean peninsula.
After Crimea was included in the Russian Federation in March 2014, the new authorities of the peninsula are nationalizing objects belonging to Ukrainian businessmen, as well as government agencies. So, in September 2014, the Crimean authorities nationalized the property of PrivatBank and its main founder Igor Kolomoisky, which is located on the territory of the republic, in addition, the owner was replaced by the residence of the leaders of the USSR, and then Ukraine in Foros.
