2019: HID Global buys international business solutions of De La Rue for identification

On July 11, 2019 it became known that HID Global, the company in the field of solutions for identification, signed the agreement on acquisition of the international business of technical solutions for identification of De La Rue company. This transaction will allow HID Global to strengthen the leading positions in a 'government-citizens' segment and will expand opportunities in the field of reliable identification.

De La Rue delivers technical solutions for identification of the personality and protection of documents for the governments worldwide. The company issues identity documents, especially actively being present at the markets to Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and in the Middle East.

Thanks to additional products, solutions and services which are closely interconnected with the current offers of HID Global solutions for identification of the identity of De La Rue perfectly correspond to our mission for creation of reliable identification for people, places and things around the world. Clients of both companies will receive benefit from an expanded range of solutions of the electronic government which will be proposed as a result of the transaction, noted Stefan Viding, the President and the chief executive officer of HID Global

The De La Rue company acts as the prime vendor of solutions for the government departments working directly with the Ministries of Internal Affairs, immigration departments, managements of police and many other government agencies and the organizations.

It is expected that the deal will be closed by the 3rd quarter 2019. Financial terms of agreement are not disclosed. After closing of the transaction of De La Rue will become a part of a business environment of HID Citizen Identity Solutions which is headed by Jessica Westerouen van Meeteren, the vice president and the managing director.
