On February 13, 2024, the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Tver Region announced the initiation of a criminal case on the death of a young child (part 2 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). A girl born in 2020 died without leaving anesthesia after dental procedures.

The case was initiated by the Zavolzhsky Interdistrict Investigation Department of the city of Tver. According to investigators, on February 12, 2024, anesthesia was used in the provision of dental care to a child in a local clinic. At the end of the treatment, the girl did not leave it, in connection with which she was taken to the hospital, where, without regaining consciousness, she died.

In the official message, the UK does not disclose the name of the clinic, but a video with investigative measures is presented. This clip shows the building where the incident took place. According to the video, users of social networks recognized the medical institution: they turned out to be the dental clinic "DentStar," located in Tver on Spartak Street.

Meanwhile, on the fact of the death of a child on behalf of the prosecutor of the Tver region Maxim Zhuk, the prosecutor's office of the Proletarsky district of Tver organized a check. The circumstances and causes of the tragedy will be established, as well as an assessment of the actions of the perpetrators. If there are grounds, prosecutor's response measures will be taken.

The girl's mother Tatyana Bolshakova told REN TV that the baby could have died due to too much anesthesia. According to her, the child could not stand the heart and pulmonary edema occurred. It is known that in the usual form it was not possible to provide dental care - the baby refused to open her mouth, cried and broke out, so her mother agreed to a general anesthesia.[1]
